The Johnson House is more than a place to stay—it is a space where participants have the opportunity to practice the skills needed to successfully transition back into the community while continuing to receive ongoing supportive services and access to community resources.
As a shared living environment, participants take an active role in maintaining the home. Everyone contributes to keeping common areas clean, respecting the space, and helping create an environment that is safe, comfortable, and welcoming for everyone. These responsibilities are intentional opportunities to build accountability, independence, and practical life skills.
Because shared living can come with differences in personalities, perspectives, and routines, participants are encouraged to practice appropriate communication and conflict resolution. These everyday experiences provide opportunities to develop practical skills that participants can carry with them when they transition into independent housing and community living.
Participants also have access to group meetings, supportive resources, and internet access for employment searches, applications, education, and other opportunities that support their goals. Throughout their stay, participants continue to receive supportive services designed to help them address barriers, strengthen stability, and work toward their individual goals.
The Johnson House is also sustained through the generosity of community donors and supporters who help provide the resources needed to maintain a welcoming and supportive home. Every donation contributes to creating an environment where participants can focus on rebuilding their lives and preparing for their next chapter.
The Johnson House represents the belief that housing is more than a roof—it is a foundation for learning, growth, stability, and a successful return to the community.
